South Tarawa in the Republic of Kiribati is home to Moroni High School.
Founded in 1975, the school is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The school recently commissioned a solar PV and power storage project to supplement power at the facility and to provide reliable backup energy.
The project included solar panels installed on multiple classroom blocks, grid tied inverters, four large storage batteries and a diesel generator for backup power supply.
Because there is no shortage of sun in Kiribati, the new solar panels will capture the sun’s rays and convert them into a clean, renewable energy source for the school, while providing significant savings.
