Latter-day Saints Join Forces with Others in the Community to Restore Mudgeeraba Showgrounds After Flooding

Following recent flooding, the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds, a fairground and park in Mudgeeraba, Gold Coast, Australia, was covered with piles of debris. The Mudgeeraba Show Committee asked the wider community to help clean up, paint and repair.

On 27th February, the Mudgeeraba Rural Fire Brigade, community volunteers and 130 members of the Gold Coast Australia Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints worked together to restore the grounds.

Ella Parsons, the Mudgeeraba Show President, said, “We are extremely grateful to everyone for their efforts. It was a massive accomplishment. We are grateful to have The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as part of our community. It’s been years since we have been able to get this much work done.”

“Because there were so many volunteers it made the work seem a lot lighter,” said Marina Taulepa, a Church member from Robina Ward. “We are glad to be able to contribute to our community.”
