Kaio, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, previously served Samoa as Deputy Head of Mission to Australia, with concurrent accreditation of the Mission to Indonesia Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and United Arab Emirates.

In 2021, Kaio pushed through setbacks caused by the COVID pandemic to earn a Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomatic Studies at Oxford University.

Kaio regularly volunteers in his local Church congregation. His latest volunteer position has given him opportunities to help people research and record memories about their ancestors and family members.

Kaio and his wife, Stephenie, are preparing their family of four children to take up residency in Pago Pago, American Samoa.

“It is a blessed opportunity to represent and serve the people of Samoa and American Samoa at this time,” Kaio said.
