Latter-day Saint Stake Centre in Auckland Damaged in Tornado

The Auckland New Zealand Papatoetoe Stake Centre of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sustained major damage after a tornado struck the area on Saturday 27 June.

There were a group of people in the cultural hall at the time of the weather event but they sheltered in another part of the building and no-one was hurt.

Church facilities management staff and local Church leaders are assessing the damage and planning what reconstruction and repairs will need to be done.
