Volunteers Tidy Up Vanuatu Cemetery

In support of “Come and Help” month in the Pacific Area, members of a congregation of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Erakor, Vanuatu worked together recently to clean up the cemetery in their village.

The village of Erakor is about 20 minutes drive from Port Vila, the capital of Vanuatu.

In a combined activity that focused on family history, men, women and young adults volunteered to weed, trim and beautify the graves of their local cemetery.

Louisette Waiane, who participated in the cleanup, said, “We had a really uplifting experience knowing that we are not just helping and taking care of part of our village, but we are serving our ancestors on the other side of the veil.”
