Young People Across the Pacific Area Look Forward to 'Face to Face' Broadcast with Elder and Sister Rasband

Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Sister Melanie Rasband invite young adults worldwide to join them September 13 for a live Face to Face broadcast from the Sacred Grove in Palmyra, New York.

Elder and Sister Rasband will be discussing The Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: A Bicentennial Proclamation to the World, which President Russell M. Nelson introduced during the April 2020 general conference.

“We hope young adults will watch this event with questions in their hearts,” said Elder Rasband. “Joseph had a question in his heart, and he received a world-changing answer from within the Sacred Grove when he studied, acted, and prayed in faith. As young adults seek and knock, they will receive answers as well. The Spirit can help answer what Sister Rasband and I cannot.”

Kiara Porter, from Sydney, Australia, said, “I’m looking forward to attending this online event with young people from across the globe. It’s exciting to think that people my age in Thailand, Mexico, and in so many other places will be taking part, all learning more about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”

"I am grateful for technology so that we can be part of this event and hear from our prophets on the other side of the globe," said Naomi Hannant, from Brisbane, Australia.

"It is evidence to me of the ongoing restoration, and I can't wait to learn more from Elder Rasband."

All young adults (ages 18 through 30), whether single or married; full-time missionaries; and students who will be finishing high school or the equivalent by the end of 2020 are invited to participate as well as invite their young adult friends who are not of our faith to join them.

According to Elder Rasband, the broadcast is an opportunity for many young adults to introduce their friends “to the glorious light of the restored gospel. The new proclamation is a proclamation to the world, not just to the Church—all people need to hear the message it contains,” he said.

“Elder Rasband and I are so excited for this event,” added Sister Rasband. “We love the young adults of the Church. And I am grateful for the chance to share my testimony of the First Vision and the Restoration of the Gospel as we meet from within the sacred grove.”
