Young New Zealanders Discuss Ways to #ShareGoodness Online

Young members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints met in Royal Oak, Auckland on 20 January to learn about using the internet and social media in healthy and constructive ways.

Auckland woman, Koloni Moli, shared some of her thoughts on the importance of using social media constructively, to lift others.

Guest speakers from the United States, Michael von Rosen and Jonathan Johnson, talked about ways young people around the world are avoiding online pitfalls by focussing on being authentic, optimistic and encouraging in their posts.

Von Rosen is a director in the Public Affairs Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He leads a worldwide team of people who maintain over 80 international editions of the Church’s Newsroom website.

Johnson is executive director of More Good Foundation which produces videos and other content, as well as training consistent with the teachings of the Church.

Over 600 young adults, teenagers, youth leaders and parents attended the 20 January Auckland devotional.

Anthony Wilson, president of the Auckland New Zealand Mt Roskill Stake of the Church presided and conducted at the meeting.

A choir of local young Latter-day Saints sang as part of the program.
