Volunteers Support New Zealand Charity’s Work to Make Life Better for Fijian School Students

Volunteers from Auckland helped New Zealand charity Pacific Assist on Saturday 3 December by loading desks and chairs onto a shipping container, headed for Fiji schools.

Members of the Pasifika basketball squad and other helpers gave up a few hours to send school furniture—and love—to students in the Pacific island nation.

Auckland man, Derek Walters, said, "It was great fun moving desks and chairs with my family especially as it would be benefiting school children in Fiji, where my wife is from. Thanks to her for discovering this service activity on JustServe.org."

Pacific Assist spokesperson, Callum Blair, thanked the volunteers for “lending a helping hand.”

The container will be shipped to Fiji by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints so local school communities can use the furniture to improve educational experiences for children.
