VIDEO: Story of Service in French Polynesia

The president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Russell M. Nelson, has urged Church members to care for all of the children of our Heavenly Father.

“Come & Help” projects in the community are some of the ways to respond to this invitation.

Church members from the Paea Stake (a group of congregations) in the community of Papehue came together recently to help improve their primary school.

They came with their entire families ready to contribute to the project because there was much to do. This included weeding the school vegetable garden, clearing and sweeping the yard, repainting furniture and painting the various games on the playground.

One participant said, “Whether parents or young people and even children, everybody was of one heart and one mind to serve. We found great joy in beautifying our school.”

Bishop Marc Taputuarai summed up the feelings of everyone there: “Serving the community helps us become more like the Saviour through sacrifice and love.”
