Story of Former Tongan Mormon Mission President to be Told in New Movie

John H. Groberg and his wife Jean were mission leaders in Tonga in the 1960’s. A new movie is being produced that will tell their story.

It is a sequel to the film “The Other Side of Heaven,” which portrayed Elder Groberg’s three year mission to Tonga as a younger man.

The new movie will be filmed in Fiji, New Zealand and the United States.

“I love human stories about people who learn and grow through adversity,” says the movie’s producer, director and scriptwriter, Mitch Davis. “Often in life we learn through things we suffer and overcome.”

“This movie shows how people of different cultures and beliefs combine their faith, and miracles and wonderful things happen,” he said.

84-year-old Elder Groberg will be in Fiji in April to watch the filming as it takes place.

Auditions are ongoing to identify actors for a variety of roles.
