Porirua Latter-day Saints Collect for Community Foodbank

Members and missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints collected food donations from members of the public in Porirua on Saturday 27 October.

“The Porirua community are really generous," according to Tania Torea, director of public affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hawke’s Bay, Lower North Island, Wellington, and New Zealand's South Island.

"They understand there’s a great need to feed the hungry and they want to help. The food drive provided the opportunity do so. Donations filled three vans and three station wagons. It was a pleasure to offer a helping hand to the Wesley Community Action, Porirua Salvation Army and Paraparaumu Salvation Army.”
