Perth Volunteers Support ‘Days for Girls’ Charity

Around 60 volunteers came together recently in Perth Australia to sew bags for girls in communities with no or limited access to sanitary items and education for young girls and women.

A post on the Days for Girls Perth Facebook page reported on the activity.

“We had a wonderful event with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Saturday with over 60 ladies joining us for their Day Of Service. We were so pleased to be invited back and hope this will become an annual event. Thanks must go to Jodie and her term of helpers as this event was very well organised and we were all very well fed. Thanks ladies.”

The service involved women of all ages, including teenagers.

Days for Girls will join with Latter-day Saints again at the November 5th CommUnity Expo at Kingsway Markets in Perth. Stalls and displays will offer information on education, self-reliance and service-orientated activities.
