Pacific Area Presidency Invites Members and Friends of the Church to Participate in Family History Activities

August is "Family History Month" in Australia and New Zealand

As August is national family history month in New Zealand and Australia, the Pacific Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is inviting members and friends of the Church in these countries to participate in family history activities.

In particular, by engaging in the #MyFamilyMyHistory campaign throughout August 2021, and viewing a Facebook Live "table talk" with Elder Kazuhiko and Sister Tazuko Yamashita and young single adults from Australia and New Zealand on Sunday 29 August 2021.

In a letter to Church leaders throughout Australia, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand and the island nations and territories of the South Pacific, the Area Presidency wrote:

"The Old Testament prophet, Malachi, foresaw Elijah’s role in latter-day Temple and Family History work. ' . . And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers' (Joseph Smith History 1:39)."
