Pacific Area President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder James J. Hamula, says this trend is also evident in the Pacific region.

“We are seeing a significant increase in the number of young men and women expressing a desire to serve as missionaries, and then acting on that desire.”

“These remarkable young people — from New Zealand, Australia, Tonga, Samoa and other places — are dedicated, humble and willing to help individuals, families and communities wherever they are being asked to go.”

“They lend a hand where it is needed,” he said, “and teach others by word and example about Jesus Christ

“Lives are being lifted, and marriages and families strengthened by these missionaries’ Christian service.”
