Latter-day Saints in the South Pacific Look Forward to Worldwide Conference

Every first Sunday in April and October since 1848, in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, the leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ have organised a conference designed to inform, inspire, and uplift members and guests of the Church.

All are invited to attend, view, listen to or read transcripts of any of the six two-hour long sessions where the current prophet, Thomas S. Monson, his two counsellors, Henry B. Eyring and Dieter F. Uchtdorf, along with the Twelve Apostles and other Latter-day Saint leaders will speak.

The subjects of their talks include having faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and following His example; strengthening home and family with loving relationships; and living lives of integrity and high moral standards, with love and respect for others.

The first session of this year's conference occurs on Saturday evening, 24 September, at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, 6.00pm to 7.30pm (Mountain Daylight Time). It is the General Women's Session for women and girls ages eight and older. Other sessions will follow on the weekend of 1-2 October.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and other invited choirs, along with organists and choristers, provide music for conference sessions.

Free tickets are required to attend at the 21,000-seat Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, with stand-by seating on a first-come, first served basis. Sessions can be viewed live online by going to lds.org and selecting the General Conference links listed there. Digital listening options are also listed.

Members of the Church in the South Pacific typically participate in General Conference by attending the sessions at their local meetinghouses one week following the live sessions.

Church public affairs missionary, Sister Susan Preator, said, "Members of the Church look forward to participating in these General Conference sessions as they approach and are grateful for the guidance and encouragement given by their inspired and exemplary leaders.

"People of faith around the world have found peace, assurance, and guidance from their participation in these meetings."
