Latter-day Saint Missionaries Testify of Jesus Christ to 55 Fiji Interfaith Leaders

Elders Satini Qarase and Moape Cokanawai spoke to 55 members of the Interfaith Search Fiji group this week to explain how members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints celebrate Easter.

Like other Christians, members of the Church celebrate Easter in remembrance of the resurrection of the Saviour Jesus Christ after He died on the cross and was placed in a tomb.

Elders Moape Cokanawai and Satini Qarase explained to the Interfaith Search Fiji, that like other Christians, members of the Church celebrate Easter in remembrance of the Saviour Jesus Christ's resurrection. March 20212021 by Intellectual Reserve, Inc. All rights reserved.

They also spoke about the deep significance of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and how the emblems of the sacrament remind us about this gift, and the promise that the Holy Spirit will be with us if we remember His sacrifice.

The young missionaries offered their testimonies that Jesus Christ lives.

Elder Paul Whippy, Area Seventy, who attended the meeting with them, said, “Understanding other religions and their traditions gives us a better appreciation of what they believe and why they do what they do. Then we are better prepared to help them through friendship and dialogue.”

“The most important lesson we took out of that meeting was better understanding and love, “said Elder Cokanawa.

He said that understanding each other more deeply can help us "better serve our fellow brothers and sisters.”

Elder Qarase added: "It was a great blessing and opportunity for us to share the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ."
