Kiribati Church Leader’s Message Inspires a ‘Reset’ in a Woman’s Life

Earlier this month Ruth Cross went to a worship service for the first time in almost three years. As she listened to the message from Banririe Nenebwati, a local leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bangantebure, Kiribati, she was deeply moved and inspired to make changes in her life.

President Nenebwati told listeners it was “time to 'restart ourselves' no matter what kind of unique, personal issues we have been struggling with. Like a frozen computer or a faulty phone, to hit the reset button and start again,” he urged.

Ruth has renewed her convictions “to be a better person who makes better choices both morally and spiritually, in order to become a true and active member once again.”

She acknowledges “the journey of repentance is not easy; I also know it will be worth it.”

After almost three years on her “own journey,” Ruth says she is committed to following Jesus Christ and will "Trust in the Lord...and He shall direct [her] paths."  Proverbs 3:5-6

She joyfully shared, “Well, let’s see what God has planned for us now, shall we?
