Jonah Lomu Talks about His Faith

Former All Black rugby player Jonah Lomu will be guest speaker at two “fireside” meetings in Takapuwahia this Sunday, 7 July 2013.

“Fireside” is a term used by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for meetings where messages about the gospel of Jesus Christ are shared by speakers and through musical items.

Mr Lomu and his family are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

To accommodate the large number of people who are expected to come to hear Mr Lomu speak, the Church will be holding two meetings in a row, one starting at 6pm, the next at 8pm.

A choir comprising Latter-day Saints from Porirua will provide music at the two meetings which will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ meetinghouse at 50 Ngatitoa Street, Takapuwahia.

Fireside speakers generally share messages based on their own life experiences and how applying the teachings of Jesus Christ have helped them and others.
