Fiji Women Welcome Church Leaders

Sister Sharon Eubank and Sister Becky Craven conclude Pacific tour with stops in Nadi and Suva

Sister Sharon Eubank and Sister Becky Craven visited Fiji from Friday 25 October through to Sunday 27 October.

During their visit they met with women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

They were accompanied by Elder Kazuhiko Yamashita of the Pacific Area Presidency and his wife, Sister Tazuko Yamashita.  Brother Ronald Craven accompanied Sister Craven.

Sister Eubank is a member of the Relief Society general presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Sister Craven is a member of the Young Women general presidency of the Church.

Prior to their visit to Fiji they met with members and friends of the Church in Papua New Guinea, Australia and New Zealand.

A devotional for all women and young women age 12 and older was held in Nadi, on the western coast of the country.

Suva, the capital of Fiji and where the Latter-day Saint temple is located, hosted the leaders as they conducted two separate training meetings for leaders of the Relief Society and Young Women organisations. Later that evening a devotional was held for women and young women aged 12 and older.

Ministering visits were made during the day to families of young women and Relief Society sisters.

Sister Craven expressed her delight to be with the sisters and reminded them that “God’s commandments are for our protection and happiness.”

“It was a blessing to have the Sisters visit us in Fiji; we feel of their love and concern for us,”  said one attendee.
