Representatives from six faith groups met at a chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nelson earlier this month to consider the formation of a Nelson-Tasman interfaith group.
Director of Public Affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nelson, Lovey Geiger, said, “I believe that if we from all different faiths come together, working to support each other, how much richer and blessed our lives and that of our community will be.”
“I know my life will be enriched as I learn more of the goodness and God-like qualities being practiced and embraced by all the different faiths.”
Lovey’s work in the Nelson community has not gone unnoticed. One leader said, “I saw RSVP Lovey on the poster and thought I had better attend!”
"After a light meal, the group discussed a presentation on “Setting an Agenda for Interfaith Activity.”
Soheil Ighani, a member of the Bahá'í Faith, volunteered to organise the next gathering.
