Latter-day Saint Service Centre Staff in Fiji #LightTheWorld with Christmas Giving

"Freely ye have received, freely give." Matthew 10:8

Thomas S. Monson, President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints reflecting on Christmas said the following, "The celebration of Christmas should be a reflection of the love and selflessness taught by the Saviour. We feel more kindly one to another. We reach out in love to help those less fortunate. Our hearts are softened. Enemies are forgiven, friends remembered and God obeyed. The spirit of Christmas illuminates the picture window of our soul, and we look out upon the world's busy life and become more interest in people than things."

The Church's #LightTheWorld service initiative which launched December 1, suggests 25 ways to selflessly serve others over 25 days.

In that spirit of giving, staff of the Latter-day Saint service centre in Fiji purchased gifts for 33 children who live in two special homes−Treasure Home and Lomani Au Home.

Children ages two to 17 years will all have a gift to brighten their Christmas day.

Christine Volavola, who represented the service centre at the special donation said, "It's a great feeling when we try to emulate our Saviour! It feels sweeter when you give selflessly from your heart. That is what we are here to do−to be examples of our Saviour, Jesus Christ."

Staff at the LDS service centre in Fiji support the Church's humanitarian, self-reliance, education, building and other efforts.
