Elder Ardern Invites Latter-day Saints to Share Their Reflections on the Hamilton New Zealand Temple

As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New Zealand prepare for a public open house for the renovated Hamilton New Zealand Temple from 26 August to 17 September, many people are reflecting on how the temple has blessed their lives and their families.

“In this spirit,” Elder Ian S. Ardern, Pacific Area President of the Church, said this week, “we would love to capture the feelings, testimonies and stories that people have about the temple in Hamilton.”

He added, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if people, young and old, shared their stories about the first time they visited the temple, or how the temple has blessed their lives over the years.”

“We approach the sacred ordinances of the temple with reverence and respect, so we would need to be thoughtful as to how we describe our experiences. But there are many wonderful videos and articles featuring Church leaders talking about the temple, which are excellent guides.”

Pacific Newsroom invites those who wish to write down their temple-related comments, or make a video, and post it on the Church’s Pacific Inspiration Facebook group, with the hashtag #hamiltontemple.

Members of the Church and those not of the faith interested in a walk-through tour of the temple in August or September can reserve free tickets at HamiltonTemple.nz.
