Elder and Sister Hamula Focus on Fortifying Faith and Families in Kiribati Visit

Pacific Area President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Elder James J. Hamula, and his wife, Sister Joyce Hamula, visited with members of the Church and others in Kiribati recently.

In meetings with Latter-day Saint leaders, members and missionaries, Elder and Sister Hamula expressed love and gratitude, and encouraged faith and service to others.

Elder and Sister Hamula had lunch with leaders of some of the other churches in Kiribati. During their lunch meeting the leaders discussed ways to increase faith and strengthen families and communities in Kiribati.

The Hamulas also met with current and former government officials, including His Excellency President Anote Tong and Madam Meme Tong, and Sir Ieremia Tienang Tabai GCMG AO. Mr Anote Tong is the current president of Kiribati, and Sir Ieremia Tienang Tabai was the first president of the nation.
