Church Supports Establishment of New Samoan Hospital

“A quality health care centre for residents of the western side of Upolu Island was opened this morning,” according to a report on Talamua.com.

The article continues: “Located across the road from Faleolo International Airport, the Faleolo Medical Center, is a ‘milestone for health,’ Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi said.”

“The US-funded $SAT2.83m facility serves residents of Aana Alofi No.3, Aiga I le Tai, Samatau and Falelatai.”

“The Faleolo Medical Center provides emergency and outpatient services, non-complex overnight admissions and maternal care. Mobile services including dental, pharmaceutical and diagnostics will also be operated from the centre.”

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints donated an ultrasound machine to the hospital.
