A place that is famous for its beaches and tourist attractions also has a thriving community of Latter-day Saints.
Elder K. Brett Nattress of the Pacific Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently presided at the Church’s semi-annual conference for congregations on the Gold Coast in Queensland’s south-east.
Daniel Shine, who has been volunteering as the faith’s leader there for the last nine years was thanked for his leadership and service, and a new president was called.
Adam Smith, along with counsellors John Blair and Kaufana (Donovan) Taulepa, will comprise the Church’s new Gold Coast Stake Presidency, and will lead congregations from the Gold Coast south to Lismore.
“Our desire is that we can contribute in some way to help all people to come to know the love of our Saviour Jesus Christ and be prepared to change their lives to follow him more fully,” President Smith said.
