Latter-day Saint representatives, Sapele Fa’alogo, Susan Preator and Barry Preator, met recently with several Samoan government officials.
The group visited with Samoa’s Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Fonotoe Nuafesili Pierre Lauofo Meredith; Minister for Women, Community and Social Development Hon. Tolofuaivalelei Falemoe Leiataua; and Attorney General Ming Leung Wai during a recent visit to the Pacific island nation.
Sapele Fa’alogo is the Church’s Samoa Director of Public Affairs. He is also the Latter-day Saint representative on the Samoa Council of Churches.
The Preators, from Utah in the United States, are currently serving as public affairs specialists for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, based in Auckland New Zealand.
Susan is a former CEO of an education and literacy software company and Barry recently completed a successful career in the fields of philanthropy, education, and humanitarian services.
As part of their missionary assignments they are working with Latter-day Saint leaders throughout the South Pacific in organising outreach opportunities for faith, government and other community leaders to work together for the good of all.
The Church and Government representatives discussed how faith is blessing the lives of many Samoans, the vital part religious freedom plays in a stable society, and ways to strengthen families.
